Belnem, International

Today we started with our Bonaire National Marine Park orientation. Everyone with us is a Bonaire newbie, so the divemaster went through more information than usual. We then made a grocery store run (think 20-something Americans trying to interpret Dutch labels), had lunch, and then headed out for our first dive.

Dive #1: Belnem. A nice reef with good fish life. This was a dive for everyone to work on their buoyancy so some time was spent on that. The highlight of the dive was a school of Caribbean Reef Squid…not a frequent sight!

In between dives we watched a school of dolphins swim by our condo. Too bad we weren’t diving with them!

Dive #2: Corporal Meiss. This is a nice reef with an easy entry and lots of different fish. We saw 2 spotted drums, a porcupine fish, various angelfish, and lots of other common fish to the area.
