Not all that much to report today. We started off the morning (after a very much needed 12 hour sleep) in search of breakfast. We decided to go the easy route and pick up some pastries at a nearby 7-11 convenience store. Very different stock than we would find at home, but it was a decent breakfast. Funny thing, before going out for breakfast we had seen precisely 3 other caucasians since leaving the airport in Tokyo. While we were at 7-11 we were joined by another 3 caucasians. I guess we all gravitate to the familiar. We then walked to a park along the water to eat (along with many locals). Around lunchtime we boarded our ship and settled in. We originally were going to disembark after dropping off our carry ons and go to a Japanese garden a few miles away, but it turned out that the ship was scheduled to leave earlier than we thought so we decided to stay on.

Before we left home Paul managed to get a relatively inexpensive upgrade from a balcony room to a suite and it definitely is nice to have the extra space, larger balcony, larger shower, and an actual bathtub. We were told by Princess that the Japan cruises are mostly reserved by Japanese tourists. They weren’t exaggerating. I’d estimate that 95% of the passengers are Japanese.

Tomorrow is a day at sea. Likely won’t be much to talk about so there may not be another entry until the next day.
