Today we went to St Thomas. We arrived a couple of hours late, partly due to a delay in leaving port yesterday and partly due to rough weather overnight. Fortunately for us, our diving plans were scheduled for late enough that they weren’t affected.

We weren’t sure what to expect from diving here. We had a very disappointing trial of diving in Puerto Rico, which is nearby, and we are very spoiled from our dives in places like Bonaire, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman. Today was also my first trial run with my new dive camera (I flooded my last one in Bonaire a couple of years ago).

Both of our dives were shallow today (nothing past about 45 feet). The reefs were nice and healthy with lots of juvenile fish. The water had been churned up from storms, so it was a bit silty, which really limits my photography options. We dove at T Table and Limestone. Our dive shop was Blue Island Divers, and they were great. We actually had the boat to ourselves, which was a huge plus.

Now, a few things about my pictures. The new camera works a little differently than my last one. I also have a new camera light, which I’m quite happy with. I did manage to over adjust red in my pictures (a problem that I should have remedied for tomorrow’s dives) so I had to do some editing to make them more realistic.
