Last location move of the trip: we drove from Aqaba to the Dead Sea this morning.

For a while we drove right next to the border between Jordan and Israel. You can see the fence in the distance.
We made one stop at the Museum at the Lowest Place on Earth. Seriously, that’s the name. Its at the southern end of the Dead Sea and has archaeologic artifacts from various eras.

“Only” 2300-2400 years old.

5000 years old.

More 5000 year old artifacts.

Seriously, 10,000 years old!

At the southern end of the Dead Sea there are salt evaporation ponds. There are also salt deposits along the shore at various parts.

The shores of the Dead Sea are the lowest land elevation on Earth. It is 1000 ft deep and has high salinity at 34.2%

Because of the high salinity, people float on the surface of the Dead Sea.
We didn’t get in today, but we did touch the water. Its so salty it leaves your skin sticky.

Another nice sunset.
