Grand Teton National Park

2020 has really messed with everyone’s travel plans, including ours. 3 canceled international trips with no change in the horizon, a few months back we decided to make plans to go to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, since they are both areas where we could find things to do while avoiding contact with most people. After working the ER for months on end of the pandemic, it is finally time for a break from this crazy new reality!

We started out in Jackson Hole. We got in late morning, got our rental car and rental bear spray, and got going. There aren’t too many people here, even though it is still their high season. It is Saturday and they had a farmer’s market going on, which was nice. We had our first in-restaurant meal since March and it may as well have been carry-out as the restaurant was literally empty and we had very little contact with the wait staff (by post-covid design, we weren’t poorly treated). We went around town a little and then headed out north towards where we were staying. Jackson Hole is basically in Grand Teton, so we were straight in the park.

We didn’t stop at specific sites, but took pictures along the way.

We stayed at Flagg Ranch and were able to walk along the local trails. We had a nice cabin with a view of the sunset from our porch. It was lovely.
