Paris

We had a quick half day in Paris. We arrived in the morning, leaving us the afternoon.

We spent our time at the Musee Marmottan Monet. This is a museum of mostly impressionist art, along with some sculptures and furnishings from the 19th century. It houses the largest single collection of Monet paintings. This was the personal collection of Michel Monet, the younger son of Claude Monet.

White Clematis: Monet
Portrait of Madame Claude Monet: Auguste Renoir
an engraving from the 13th century
Bras de Seine a Giverny: Monet

The museum also has the personal collection of Berthe Morisot, the first female impressionist, also the sister-in-law of Édouard Manet. The museum is not as big name as others here, but it is well worth a visit, especially if you like impressionist art.

La Suppliante: Picasso
Yellow Irises and Malva: Monet
Water Lillies: Monet
The agapathus: Monet
We passed by the Eiffel Tower on the train.
Notre Dame Cathedral: view from our hotel room.
