Mala Mala Game Reserve Day 2, South Africa

Hippo having and early morning drink.

There really weren’t many flowers around. This is an impala lily which is actually a small tree. This one couldn’t have been more than 6 inches tall.

Dwarf mongoose hanging out on a tree trunk.

This lioness and her 4-5 month old cubs could not have been more cute.

They were playing with an impala skull.

We found out that a pair of mating leopards had been found. It turns out that leopards mate for days, as frequently as every 15 minutes.

The leopards, Nweti, the male on the left, and River Rocks, the female on the right, were found in a tree but were soon chased off by a troop of baboons.

They walked along the riverbed and eventually mated.

We later came upon a lion pride who had hunted an impala.
