Mala Mala Game Reserve Day 3, South Africa

This is our last morning and last drive of the trip.

There was a single black backed jackal hanging out in a field.

We were following tracks of lions and a leopard and ended up finding Sibuye’s female cub. Based on the tracks it is likely that she was treed by lions.

She was relaxed and unbothered.

Once again, we did not find her brother.

We went back to check on the cub and she had moved to a higher branch but otherwise was still chilling out.

We spent some time with a large lion pride that was hanging out in the riverbed.

Some of the adults were using another safari truck for shade.

Our drive ended, but we had a few more critters to come.

Outside our room we had a troop of vervet monkeys.

And to top things off, at breakfast a leopard we had been wanting to see walked by on the riverbed.

This is Three Rivers, a female leopard who has 2 small cubs in a den on the camp property. The cubs are apparently not out and about much yet and we did not see them, but it was a very nice end of our time here to get to see her.
